Welcome
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
John 3:16 - The Bible
Ebenezer is a Reformed Baptist church based in Brighton on the South Coast of England. Although the name 'Ebenezer' conjours up the image of old Ebenezer Scrooge from 'A Christmas Carol', the meaning of the word Ebenezer couldn't be further away from that
Ebenezer actually means 'Thus far the Lord has helped us' (1 Samuel 7:12). This is something that the church has experienced over the years, but it is also something that each individual Christian has experienced in their own lives.
In the Bible, God says He will never leave or forsake His people. He loved His people so much that He sent His Son, Jesus to save them. The Bible tells us that that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not persish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)
Even though we are unable to obey God fully because we are human, and imperfect, He still shows love to us everyday, and is a comfort and help in our day to day lives.
The name Ebenezer is an aknowledgement of the help that God gives to those who believe in him and have put their faith in Jesus Christ, and we would like to invite you to find out more about this.
We look forward to seeing you.
